Epistylis sp. sessile peritrichs on a Cyclops copepod
In the video above we see a group of active Epistylis peritrichs. The cilia on the
discs spin vigorously, whirling the golden algae colonies Synura uvella around like a ball
on a fountain. Every now and then a specimen shrinks upon impact.
