Pygmy backswimmer

A Pygmy backswimmer with some "giant" bubbles, in fact air bubbles of just over 1 mm, produced by the broken stem of a water plant, visible on the picture. The fringe of swimming hairs on one of the rear legs are reflecting in rainbow colours. The neck shield seems to lift free from the body, but that is an optical illusion, caused by its lighter colour, next to a dark boarder that looks like a shadow. The air bubble on the belly is also visible, a keel-shaped protrusion at the front part of the under side makes it possible to hold a larger bubble
