Great Silver Beetle (male)

The apparent black armour of the beetle shines beautiful green in the powerful light of the camera's flash. The extended "antenna" are the palps of lips and jaws. The real antenna are curved under the eyes. The white collar is probably a colony of wheel animalcules (rotifera). At bottom right of the picture the triangular plate on the front leg.
