Pygmy backswimmer, LARVA
A picture of a larva of the Pygmy backswimmer, made by Jaap Cost Budde. In
fact bugs don't have real larvae, they hatch as creatures very much like the adult insect. But
the larvae still don't have wings, only small stumps as is clearly visible here. I've been
looking for Pygmy backswimmers larvae in vain for many years, so I was happy with this picture.
