Hydroporus planus
Hydroporus planus?

This 4 millimeters long Hydroporus beetle could be the planus species (common in Holland), looking at the colour (dark brown wingcases, black head and neck shield), the hairs and the location were it was found: a shallow, newly dug sandpit that is a preferred habitat. But only dissection of a Hydroporus species gives
